Reading Group "Habitar e Coexistir" 1st Session of 2025
Resuming the activities of 2025, we invite everyone to reflect on how our way of inhabiting the world and coexisting with others has been transforming, especially in times so marked by technology and the acceleration of the processes that define our society.
"As Heidegger tells us, to inhabit is the human condition in the world; it is because we inhabit that we build. The restlessness and unease from which the world opens in our time show that our way of inhabiting has transformed. A way of inhabiting that is no longer peaceful, and which ends up defining the way we coexist. How, in the end, do we interpret what is other to us? What circumstances determine, today, our inhabiting? To what extent are our intersubjective relations rooted in this disconcerting way of inhabiting that defines the age of technique and technology? Several authors, within or outside the hermeneutic, phenomenological, or existential traditions, seek to answer these questions. Authors to whom we aim to continue giving a voice with the 2025 edition of the Reading Group: "Habitar e Coexistir."
The sessions will be held online, via Zoom. To participate, simply register via email: angelo.milhano@uevora.pt.
