Bruno Ferreira Costa is one of the winners of the Jean Monnet Chatedra 2023. The Cathedra will be implemented over the next three years, ensuring the development of research and activities in the area of political science. It will be based at UBI, in the PRAXIS Research Unit - Center for Philosophy, Politics and Culture.
The approved project is entitled POLMEDIA_EU - Political Systems, Political Participation and Media in the European Union, and the evaluators highlighted the profile of the researcher responsible, the quality of the project and the impact of the cathedra in the Beira Interior region as determining factors for the success of the application.
This year's call had more than 150 applicants, and the professor of the Department of Communication, Philosophy and Politics of UBI obtained the maximum funding available for this project (50 thousand euros).
The Jean Monnet Cathedra is a teaching position awarded to specialists in European issues, with the aim of disseminating research carried out on key issues for the future of the EU, and it is the first time that the Cathedra is awarded to a UBI professor.
With this project, several seminars, conferences, workshops and a postgraduate course will be organized in the project area, as well as a cooperation strategy with partners from Colombia, Indonesia, Algeria and Ukraine.
